RESUME
Work
Experience
Engineering Assistant, TxDOT
September 2019–Present
I worked in roadway design where I created horizontal and vertical profiles, terrain models, and corridor models from 3D data. I also assembled plan sets and the PS&E (Plans, Specifications, and Estimates) for safety, traffic control, and landscaping jobs.
Design Engineer, Therapalz
September 2018–May 2019
Therapalz is a startup whose purpose is to manufacture affordable robotic pets that aid people diagnosed with dementia-related illnesses. My role was to design a breathing apparatus that felt like an actual diaphragm contracting and expanding while making low noise.
Research Intern, Rice University
May 2018-August 2018
I worked with the Rice University Tribomechadynamics Laboratory under Dr. Matthew Brake. My main achievement was designing a belt sander fixture that allowed beams to be sanded under a uniformly distributed load with adjustable . I used Solidworks to deliver the CAD files and engineering drawings.

Leadership
Society for Engineering Mechanics Project Director
September 2017–May 2018
While I was the project director, I mainly led the design and construction of the Automated S'mores Machine. It was displayed at the Engineering Open Houses of 2018 and 2019. We also created an Electromyography Controlled Car that won 1st place at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Fair.
Society for Engineering Mechanics Curriculum Development Director
September 2018–May 2019
I created many demonstrations to help teach core engineering concepts to students in fundamental engineering courses. These demonstrations include a tip/slide demo for finding the coefficient of friction, a truss that shows zero force members, a photoelasticity display to show stress distributions, and a gear ratio display that explains mechanical advantage and force placement.
Education
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
B.S. Systems Engineering and Design
Secondary Field: Digital Prototyping
August 2015–May 2019
About my major: Systems Engineering and Design is an interdisciplinary program that focuses on mechanical, electrical, and control systems and how they work together. My secondary field in digital prototyping focuses on mechanical design with courses like Finite Element Analysis, Design for Manufacturability, and Computer-aided Product Realization.
Awards
Spring 2019 Bernt O. Larson Award
My team of 4 was awarded 1st place among 16 project teams in total. The award was voted by the faculty in the Systems Engineering and Design department. We created a ratcheting wire cutter/crimper with the intention that our company sponsor can immediately create a functional prototype from our deliverables.
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Fair 2017
While I was the Project Director for Society for Engineering Mechanics, we entered the IEEE fair and won 1st place with our Electromyography Controlled Car demonstration.
